CHI IRON won't power on with the switch in the "ON" position, check that you've depressed your CHI plug's red reset button. In the event your power does go out, simply reset the plug and it should work properly just like before.
Turn your
CHI FLAT IRON
off and on by sliding the concealed switch inside the handle. The

indicator light means the CHI HAIR STRAIGHTENING IRONS in the heating mode. This CHI IRON light may flicker during heat cycles, which is perfectly normal.
ALWAYS
remember to turn the

You can clean your
CHI of product build-up (ie, GUNK) by using the ceramic paddles with rubbing alcohol and a cloth.
Be sure that the CHI FLAT IRON is OFF, unplugged, and cool to the touch before cleaning. And don't use abrasive cleansers or materials on the CHI IRON'S ceramic plates, as this can damage your CHI's heating surface.
Keep your
CHI FLAT IRON away from water, since this may damage the Iron, void your warranty and make you generally unhappy.
If the hinge ever manages to loosen and the plates fail to align, simply re-tighten the hinge. Unplug the CHI FLAT IRON and make sure it's cool. Carefully remove the caps covering the hinge. Tighten the screw inside the CHI IRON's hinge until the plates align on the product. Replace the hinge covers, and you're all set!
